A Study on the Effectiveness of Diagnostic Testing and Remedial Teaching Abstract Diagnostic test is an important tool to identify students’ learning difficulties and misconceptions in science concepts. In this study, it was conducted for 48 students of class 8 to assess their understanding of the chapter Motion and Force. The pre-diagnostic test revealed that the students faced difficulties particularly with friction and the ways to reduce friction. Based on these findings, a diagnostic test was prepared focusing specifically on these difficult areas. This approach allowed for precise identification of misconceptions and learning gaps, which guided the planning and implementation of remedial teaching to improve comprehension and application skills.
